The Associated Story

The Two Jars

The Two Jars

This poetic fable delivers a lesson on self-acceptance and the beauty of imperfections. Through the story of a cracked jar that believes it is useless, the tale shows that what we perceive as a weakness can, in fact, be a strength, capable of producing beauty and doing good. The kind-hearted water carrier invites us to change our perspective: our flaws, far from diminishing us, can have unexpected usefulness. The story emphasizes strong values such as kindness, humility, embracing differences, and gratitude, all within a simple and symbolic framework. Our version of The Two Jars, based on an Indian folk wisdom tale, was written by Claire Antoine.

The Artist

IRINA RASQUINET

IRINA RASQUINET

Born in 1974 in Kizliar, in the North Caucasus, her journey is marked by uprooting: forced to flee the Chechen war, she settled in France in 1997. This trajectory fuels her artistic perspective, infusing her work with a particular focus on neglected materials and remnants that become sources of rebirth. The legend of the two jars perfectly illustrates Irina's artistic philosophy, which sees cracks as a source of creation and unexpected beauty. Through her works, she invites us, like the water carrier of the legend, to perceive the hidden value of imperfection and fragility. In both the story and Irina’s work, cracks let the light in, and apparent flaws transform into creative rebirth.
